Baltimore
Living Classrooms, in partnership with the James Beard Foundation and James Beard Foundation Board Member Jeff Cherry, will host a Friends of James Beard Dinner, an exclusive multi-course, wine-paired dinner kicking off Sail250 Maryland and celebrating Baltimore’s vibrant culinary community and rich cultural heritage.
The evening will be led by Spike Gjerde, the James Beard Award-winning chef and restaurateur behind Woodberry Kitchen, La Jetée, and Bar Dalí, who is known for a trailblazing culinary approach that prioritizes direct relationships with Mid-Atlantic farms and Chesapeake watermen. Gjerde will collaborate with a line-up of the City's top talent to create a menu that features and reflects the city's culinary vibrance and diversity.
Tony Foreman, the restaurateur and owner of the Tony Foreman + Co. restaurant group, who is celebrated for helping to shape the city's dining scene and wine programs, will support the event and curate the beverage program for the evening.
Joining Spike and Tony in creating the menu for this experience are Carlos Raba of Clavel, Jasmine Norton of The Urban Oyster, Tae Strain of Burnt Hill Farm, Scott Bacon of Fishmonger's Daughter, Jinji Fraser of Jinji Chocolate, Kaity Mitchell of La Jetée, and more.
The evening will feature an extraordinary waterfront dining experience showcasing some of the region’s top culinary voices while celebrating Baltimore’s rich culinary heritage and tradition of warm hospitality.
Held on the eve of Sail250, this intimate evening will bring together civic, corporate, and philanthropic leaders as Baltimore prepares to welcome the world in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
