At the Early Childhood Center at Fayette, Living Classrooms works with the Y in Central Maryland to provide high-quality education, services, and resources to children ages 3-5 and their families with the goal of preparing children to enter kindergarten ready to learn.

The Y Head Start provides a developmental learning program that increases children’s social-emotional growth and knowledge in the areas of literacy, mathematics, science, and technology and supports the indicators in Maryland's Ready for Kindergarten (R4K). The program also promotes health and wellness through the development of children's physical coordination and motor skills and by laying the foundation for a positive attitude towards physical activity. Movement and playtime enable the children to interact, communicate ideas and feelings, reinforce academic learning, and practice problem-solving and social skills while playing and having fun.

By working together, the early childhood centers in the TIZ provide access to education and resources in the community to help children and families reach their potential.
