Early Childhood Education

About

Alongside our partners, the Early Childhood Center at Fayette, the Y in Central Maryland, Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Early Head Start, and the Baltimore Judy Center at Commodore John Rodgers, Living Classrooms provides high-quality education, services, and resources for children ages 3–5 and their families. Together, we are creating a continuum of early childhood education that prepares children to enter kindergarten ready to learn—and supports families in building strong foundations for lifelong success.

Living Classrooms leads this multi-organization partnership, coordinating data collection and managing a shared performance management system that tracks enrollment, attendance, assessments, and family engagement across program sites. Using tools such as the Frog Street Assessment, the partnership evaluates children’s progress across multiple domains—including social–emotional, math, literacy, physical development, approaches to learning, and English language development—to continuously refine instruction and measure the efficacy of the early learning continuum.

Beyond the classroom, Living Classrooms provides wraparound support for families at the UA House at Fayette, offering afterschool programming, health and wellness activities, adult education, and workforce development opportunities. By connecting early education with family resources and community support, Living Classrooms and its partners are helping children and families in Baltimore’s Target Investment Zone reach their full potential.
