Inspired to Serve is a service learning and civic engagement program operated by Living Classrooms, in partnership with the Karma for Cara Foundation. Inspired to Serve uses hands-on volunteer and internship opportunities at Living Classrooms’ sites in Baltimore and Washington, DC to teach students about leadership, community problem-solving, and social change.
By combining meaningful service experiences with additional programming that provokes students to consider the purpose and power of service, Inspired to Serve seeks to foster the next generation of leaders. The program welcomes student volunteers of all levels and backgrounds.
The Inspired to Serve Summer Internship is an 8-week program that places students in a service role with Living Classrooms’ programs in Baltimore. Participants gain a deeper understanding of the community they serve, develop important mentorship connections, and complete a project designed to help them think critically about community leadership. The program admits college students and rising high school seniors.
Individuals, schools, universities, and student groups are welcome to inquire about partnering and volunteering with Inspired to Serve.
