Camp fraser
About
Living Classrooms’ DC-area environmental education campus, Camp Fraser, lies on approximately 76 acres of wooded land, surrounded by more than 220 acres of Fraser Preserve, an undeveloped area managed by the Nature Conservancy. Located a few miles from Great Falls, Virginia, and just a 45-minute ride from downtown DC, Camp Fraser offers students from all over the region hands-on educational programs, summer camps, and adventure programming. Camp Fraser is also available for group retreats, programs, and events.
Camp Fraser is managed and programmed by Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region, and is owned by Calvary Baptist Church, Washington DC. This partnership is aimed at using the natural resources at Camp Fraser to benefit and educate DC-area students through recreation, camps, educational programs, and access to the outdoors.
Programs
Living Classrooms offers adventure and ropes course programs, teambuilding, and nature lessons to summer camps and school groups. Our hands-on, experiential approach to learning complements formal in-class education. Choose from a daytime visit with activities and lessons led by trained outdoor educators, or stay overnight for a camp out in our camper houses and indoor bunk beds! All of our education staff are trained in environmental science, outdoor education, and are first aid and CPR certified.
-
Participants have the opportunity to challenge themselves on the Fraser high ropes course, climbing wall, or team building course.

-
Students will learn about ponds, rivers, watersheds, and the animals that inhabit them, as well as conduct water quality testing.
-
