OPERATION RESPOND

About

About Operation Respond

Operation Respond is a dedicated Crisis Management Intervention Team (CMIT) that comprises trained Resource Navigators supported by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, along with Career and Workforce Development Case Managers. Our mission is to provide comprehensive services through our mobile Crisis Response Resource Center, focusing on responding to the needs of individuals and families in the Belair Edison and McElderry Park communities. Our holistic approach aims to empower those at the highest risk of community gun violence, helping them heal from unresolved trauma and transform their lives for the better.

Our Services

At Operation Respond, we understand the unique challenges faced by individuals and families impacted by gun violence. We offer a range of services that cater to the specific needs of the communities we serve:

  1. Needs Assessment: Those living in the Belair-Edison and McElderry Park neighborhoods, who wish to participate in our program, will undergo a thorough needs assessment. This assessment helps us understand their needs and design a personalized strategic life plan.

  2. Direct Services: Our Crisis Management Intervention Team (CMIT) is equipped to provide direct support to individuals and families. Led by trained Resource Navigators and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, we offer a caring and compassionate environment to facilitate healing and growth.

  3. Referrals to Culturally Competent Partners: We believe in the strength of collaboration. As part of our approach, we refer participants to established and culturally competent partner organizations to ensure a comprehensive and well-rounded support system.

  4. Case Management: Our Case Managers work closely with participants to develop and implement tailored service plans, addressing both immediate needs and long-term goals.

  5. Cognitive Behavior Therapy: Skilled therapists offer cognitive behavior therapy to help individuals process trauma, manage stress, and build resilience.

  6. Mentoring: Our mentoring program connects participants with mentors who provide guidance and encouragement throughout their journey of personal development.

  7. Career Development and Job Placements: We support individuals in their career aspirations, offering counseling, skill development, and assistance in finding suitable job placements.
