Living Classrooms operates the Friends of Fort McHenry, a group dedicated to preserving the historical legacy of the Fort and inspiring all who visit the “Birthplace of the Star-Spangled Banner” through living history, education programs, and the development of facilities, which interpret and increase access to this rich history. The Friends of Fort McHenry have been instrumental in securing funds for the construction of a new education and visitor center that illustrates the importance of the Fort in defending the United States’ freedom from Britain.
The Friends achieve this mission through support from those who value our heritage and the impact that history can have upon our young people. To learn more visit http://www.friendsoffortmchenry.org or call 410-962-4290, ext. 850.
