Summer Camps
Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region hosts several multi-day student camps that are open to the general public during the summer months. If you would like to keep your kids engaged in fun and educational activities that will get them outdoors and interested in nature, then consider enrolling them in one of our upcoming opportunities. Please contact us for schedule and availability.
Camp on a historic vessel
Living Classrooms' Shipboard Educational program provides STEM education on board our historic vessel, the Half Shell, where students will explore their local environment and maritime history on the beautiful Anacostia River. While also learning to become sailors, the students will learn about navigation and watershed ecology, trawl for marine life, perform dissections, and more!
Please contact shipboard@livingclassroomsdc.org to learn more or register your child.
Camp at Kingman Island
Kingman Island and Heritage Park is a natural gem in Washington, DC, hidden behind RFK stadium that provides a beautiful backdrop for summer camp activities, many of them completely free! Camps will fuse sports and outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and golf with STEM education. Kids can learn and play while ultimately becoming better stewards of the natural world. Please contact kingmanisland@livingclassroomsdc.org to learn more or register your child.
