Living Classrooms Ascend through Music Program is looking for musically-inclined and creative-minded individuals for our Creative Mentorship Initiative, PULSE for the Spring 2021 session that runs Feb 15 – May 7. Musicians/Artists/Creatives are matched with a youth (ages 7-19) of similar interests, meeting 1-on-1 once per week over 12 weeks. The mentor shares their passion and experience and helps their mentee develop skill and confidence in the creative discipline as well as helps them prepare a performance piece or project. This spring, for everyone’s safety, sessions will be virtual. This flexible opportunity allows you to share your skills and foster a student’s growth from the comfort of your home, office, or studio.
No prior teaching or mentoring experience is required and staff will provide training and support on using virtual tools.
Orientation sessions will be offered the week of February 1st, which will provide expectations, resources, teaching best practices, virtual tools and other information. (Mentor orientation is mandatory for new mentors in order to be matched).
Amateur, professional, student, and hobby creatives are all welcome to apply.
