Happy National Volunteer Week!

April 9, 2014

“Those who can, do. Those who can do more, volunteer.” April 7-13 is National Volunteer Week and we would like to thank all of our amazing volunteers! This past week, several organizations and groups participated in clean ups, campus projects, and more: – On Tuesday, April 8, employees from Constellation and BGE completed a campus beautification project with us. They replant and improved an existing rock garden on our East Harbor Campus and cleaned up the wetlands. – On Saturday, April 5, Masonville Cove participated in Project Clean Stream. They collected over 200 pounds of trash and recyclables from the stream. – On Friday, April 4, employees from Gensler worked side-by-side with our Fresh Start students to learn basic carpentry skills and allowed our students to experience leading a group and teaching others. We still need volunteers for upcoming events: The Kingman Island Bluegrass & Folk Festival and Privateer Weekend in Fells Point.
