Fresh Start Students Compete in Robotics Competition

March 28, 2014

Since the beginning of the new year, Fresh Start students in the National Capital Region have been working with engineer mentors from the Department of Transportation to build a robot to compete at the FIRST Robotics Competition. The competition was March 27-28 and Team 4242’s robot competed against other teams in a game called “aerial assist”. The aerial assist game required the robot to be able to play on a team that will score goals, pass the balls, and aid in defense tactics to prevent other teams from scoring. The students’ Robotics team ranked #8 in the qualifying rounds at the FIRST Robotics Competition against 50 of the best schools from across the region, advancing to the quarter finals!
