Baltimore Inner Harbor

07 September 2022 - 13 September 2022 Baltimore, MD

For the first time in 2 years, there will be a family-friendly festival on the Baltimore Waterfront. Historic Ships in Baltimore, a program of Living Classrooms Foundation, is thrilled to announce the return of Maryland Fleet Week and Flyover Baltimore this September 7-13. This exciting event is presented by Northrop Grumman and hosted in partnership with the U.S. Navy, the State of Maryland, the City of Baltimore, and Sail Baltimore. Maryland Fleet Week and Flyover Baltimore celebrates the rich maritime traditions of the Chesapeake Bay and the contributions of Marylanders to the defense of the nation.

This biennial event is back IN-PERSON and better than ever! Residents and tourists alike will delight in the Fleet, the Flyovers and the Festival, ALL taking place at the iconic Inner Harbor. Event goers will thrill in hearing (and feeling) the roar of mighty jets as they soar overhead during a series of flyovers, while U.S. and foreign Navy vessels will be ready for boarding visitors at the Inner Harbor, Fells Point and North Locust Point. The Fleet Week Festival returns as a fun, free, family-oriented event, featuring live music, food and drinks, a kid’s area, historical and educational exhibits, demonstrations and special events all throughout the weekend.

The weekend’s events will run concurrently with Baltimore’s oldest holiday, Defenders’ Day, at Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine. On Saturday, following a full day of programming, special ranger talks and living history demonstrations, Friends of Fort McHenry, another program of Living Classrooms Foundation, will be throwing their annual Star-Spangled Banner Reception as the U.S. Army and National Park Service co-host their evening program with music and a re-enactment of the Battle of Baltimore culminating in Fireworks over the ramparts.

Now more than ever, Baltimoreans deserve celebrations that allow the whole city to reflect on the value of community and what makes Baltimore unique and great. Please join Historic Ships & Living Classrooms Foundation as we help usher tourism back to Baltimore with celebration, maritime education, and outdoor fun with Maryland Fleet Week and Flyover Baltimore September 7-13, 2022 presented by Northrup Grumman!
