DEFENDERS’ DAY WEEKEND
The National Park Service, volunteers, Living History Participants along with the U.S. Army Band commemorate the Battle of Baltimore each year with a weekend full with demonstrations, a parade, special talks, educational opportunities and guided walks where visitors experience three major eras of the Fort’s history – the War of 1812, Civil War, and World War I. The weekend is highlighted by a star-studded patriotic concert on Saturday evening by the U.S. Army Band and the National Park Service’s ceremony honoring the Defenders of Fort McHenry, past and present, followed by an incredible fireworks show – free to the public.

Join the Friends of Fort McHenry for a private VIP reception to commemorate Defenders’ Day in the shadow of the evening’s public program. Featuring delicious buffet and desserts, delectable refreshments from local beer and wine companies, and front-row seats to the spectacular fireworks show.
