Family Summer STEM Sail aboard Mildred Belle

Yards Marina

2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
10 Water Street SE
Washington, DC 20002

Join the Living Classrooms crew onboard our DC flagship, Mildred Belle as we explore the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers!

What’s countershading? How does a clam eat? Can fish smell?

Go trawl fishing, get up close and personal with wildlife, and learn all about the amazing ways the creatures we discover are adapted for an aquatic lifestyle.  We’ll also try our hand at catching plankton, examine them under a microscope, and find out why these (sometimes) tiny creatures are among the most important on Earth!  *Fun for all ages!

* Please note, Mildred Belle is only equipped for passengers 50 lbs. and over. Anyone under 50 lbs. is welcome to participate, but must bring their own life jacket. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages aboard.
