Out and About: Kingman Community Nights

October 29, 2015

Join Living Classrooms for weekly community events such from scavenger hunts to nature hikes.

With the leaves changing color and pumpkins being proudly displayed on every local stoop, it is hard to deny that decorative gourd season is upon us. Unfortunately that means Winter is not far behind. Take advantage of the last few weeks of outdoor-appropriate weather and enjoy Thursday nights on Kingman Island with Living Classrooms. Every Thursday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., LC will host a free, themed community night, such as Astronomy Night (this evening from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.) to Canoe Paddling (October 22) and a special Fall Festival (October 29). Children of all ages are welcome and families are encouraged to join in the fun. The inaugural fall festival will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday October 29 with pumpkin painting, hayrides, nature walks, scarecrow stuffing, face painting, field games and hot apple cider.

Living Classrooms is a nonprofit organization that strengthens communities and inspires young people to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training, using urban, natural, and maritime resources as “living classrooms.”
